" The average life span of a man is 120m years and with some judicious planning on an average one can easily go up to 90 years, and even more. This requires careful life style adjustments esp.after 50 ..Up tp 50 with some luck, u may pull through with an uncontrolled life, though you may have to pay with principal and interest in later years.

Essentials of long living centered around two factors: good sleep ( sukha nidra) and good shitting( sukh shodhana)..while the former is important for day to day repair of wear and tear, the latter takes care of all accumulated toxins in the body.It is not necessary that one should have 8 hours sleep( impossible to have more than 5-6 hrs as one ages,due to decreased melanin in the body), what is important is to have a minimum of 1-2hr deep sleep( sushupti) with hardly any dreams, the way the child sleeps..Regarding the second aspect,concentrate on having more succulent ( water containing)diet than a dry diet,since as the land u r living have 75-80% WATER, our body is also in the same condition.This can be achieved, by consuming succulent unprocessed fruits and vegetables more.In principle ones diet should consists of 75% unprocessed and 25% processed food.The more u process the food by way of cooking more nutrients are lost and the resulting food only gets converted in to fat and increase ur belly.When one say water consumption, what is meant is not simple gulping of water( that only add more work for the kidneys), but metabolic water( containing enzymes,vitamins,and minerals)contained in fruits and vegetables.If one takes regular raw fruits and vegetables , there is no need for drinking water at all.Another important thing to maintain a regular time management for the body, by observing the following elimination,digestion and absorption cycles.Body diverts all its energy for toxic elimination, from 4am to 12am, then maximum energy for digestion from 12 am to 8 pm ,and absorption or assimilation between 8pm to 4 am.So in the elimination period and absorption period eat lightly , and eat well in the digestion phase.This will prevent any unnecessary accumulation of undigested food and that way putting on excess weight.In other words, eat like a prince in the morning.eat like a king in the noon and eat like a beggar in the night.As a thumb rule avoid 4 whites: Milk( except curd), maida, sugar,( go for honey or gud or bellam) and white salt( use rock salt or black salt), to have good digestion and elimination.As a routine start the day with a fruit on an empty stomach, and substitute ones regular tea  or coffee with green tea ,lemon and honey. 

One need not have very rigorous exercise, but half an hour walk 3-4days a week in the morning is more than sufficient.With ref,to hypertension, a general scare is perpetuated by the medical and drug companies that to consider to have a healthy heart one need to maintain 120./80 Hg pressure, and any thing above is abnormal and needs intervention.This is simply not possible as one ages , and in a day with our stress and emotion, and at times on a heavy work load, the pressure may go up momentarily.The correct time to check ur pressure is as soon as u get up in the morning after a good night rest and especially see the reading on the bottom line..see that it does not cross 90 on a regular basis, and the reading on upper line does not have much role on the heath status of ur heart.All other readings as the day passes have no meaning and one need not worry about it unnecessarily.
Avoid all drugs as much as possible, lead a disciplined life with sensible eating and moderate exercise-- these are only recipes for a long life."...
