Periya…Cobra! Bite us once…

If a Sishya cannot continue to stay with his Guru and leaves his Guru, will Sishya's Aathmeegam go away? , Sri Karapaathira Swamigal asked Periyava.
Sri Karapaathira Swamigal used only his 'karam' (hand) as 'paathiram' (vessel). People used to make curd rice or some other rice and offer a ball of it. This Swamigal used only his 'hand vessel' for taking and eating. Hence they came to known by the name, 'Kara-Paathira' Swamigal. He is a well learned Swamigal.
He was a Mahan. His Thejas added a splendid light to the room in which he used to sit, says Sri Kannan Mama.
More importantly, He had immense bakthi on Periyava, insists Sri Kannan mama.
That Swamigal seemed to have asked this question which is very important to us: "If a Sishya cannot continue to stay with his Guru and leaves his Guru, will Sishya's Aathmeegam go away? ?"
At that time, Periyava observed 'Chatur-Masyam' and 'Vyasa Pooja' at VasanthaKrishnaaPuram. Just before that, Periyava did Sri Chandramouleeswara Pooja at Sri Kannan Mama's home for 2 days. From Sri Kannan Mama's home, Periyava moved towards VasanthaKrishnaaPuram.
'Kara-Paathira' Swamigal used to conduct daily pooja to the Thiruvannamalai at VasanthaKrishnaaPuram from where the 'Malai' was visible.
Everyone including Harijans, around hundred plus people used to take part in the pooja and say "Annaamalaikku aroharaa" thrice. It was followed by 'Shiva-Smarana' and finally 'Aarathi' to the 'Malai'. Everyday his camp will be vibrating in this manner. Periyava also visited once and gave prasadam to all.
While at Kannasipuram Camp, Periyava had sent Sri Mama to 'Kara-Pathira' Swamigal who intended to conduct a Sathyagraha at Rameshwaram.
Sri Kannan Mama at a much later time was crossing the library in Sri Matam and found a paper that had some conversation between Sri Kara-Pathira Swamigal and Periyava "…
"If a Sishya cannot continue to stay with his Guru and leaves his Guru, will Sishya's Aathmeegam go away? " was one of the question that was readable.
Sri Kannan Mama came to Periyava and showed the paper and asked for Periyava's reply.
Periyava replied, "A tiger hunts hunts for a goat and chases it… Somehow, the goat escapes… Does that mean that the goat wouldn't have an impact of this incident? This incident would surely linger in the goat's mind forever. Same way, a sishya's association with his Guru will never go waste, even if he leaves his Guru. Guru's blessings will always be there. His blessings will elevate his sishya one day".
Periyava asked Sri Mama, "Where did you get this from?" Sri Mama explained that it was in a paper where it was bit readable and was found outside Sri Matam's library.
Seemed Periyava confirmed the answer – Periyava said, the impact of staying with Guru always remains with the Sishya … Sri Kannan mama says those words were etched in his heart.
Same way, in the life of a devotee of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, one of the Mahan told him, "You were bitten by King Cobra (meaning Paramahamsar). You cannot escape!"
Sri VJR Mama heard from Periyava about Triplicane Periyava, "நல்ல புளியங் கொம்பா பிடிச்சிருக்கே!", meaning no way to miss the salvation!
Today's Nectar :
Prayers after Prayers were made for mundane things. Moving away and away from what Guru has said or given… Oh Periya…Periyava! One final Prayer we could make now for us to end the Prayers and be bitten!
Periya…vaa! Show us in one flash, your Darshan!
Periya…Guro! Give us in one splash, the Bhakthi!
Periya…Cobra! Bite us once, so that we merge in you!
